While some people refer to Ellington as a jazz musician, some people just consider him a true American musician.
Glenn Miller
It is impossible to talk about big band jazz music without talking about Glenn Miller. He was known for his big band musical abilities and his ability to lead a phenomenal orchestra. During the swing era, he was able to create one of the best-known bands and become one of the best-selling jazz recording artists of all time. While he was serving in World War II, Miller’s aircraft disappeared during a storm over the English Channel. He was serving in the war in order to present music to the people that needed it most of all. He is one of the most influential jazz artists of all time.
